Andy Lee Kirk Isleta Pueblo and Navajo learned jewelry making at the University of New Mexico. Influenced by the late Hopi artist Charles Loloma and Navajo jeweler Gibson Nez, Kirk is versatile and prolific. He does lapidary work, including rolling his own beads, and has mastered all types of precious metalwork including lost wax and sand cast techniques, stamping, engraving, overlay and fabrication.
Kirk has been awarded the IACA Artist of the Year in 1996 and was won many awards at the SWIA Indian Market in Santa Fe, N.M. Most recently, 1st place and Best in Division.
