This beautifully appointed   sterling silver tea set  has a  total of eight pieces.  The Royal Windsor pattern by Towle.  The coffee server,  burner, stand  and  tea kettle,  waste bowl and lid,  sugar and cream bowls, sugar tongs, tray  and an additional coffee server make up this complete tea service. . The eight piece set is made by Towle in 925/1000 silver and hallmarked with Towle's old rampant Lion within a stylized T. Seven pieces are stamped, "Towle STERLING 76420".  The tray is stamped "Towle STERLING 62420"

Each is additionally marked as follows:

Coffee pot measures 11 “ x 10” (handle to spout),  and is stamped, "7 Half Pints ".  The Tea Pot measures approximately  9 inches tall, and 10 & 3/4 inches wide. ( handle to spout) . It is stamped, "6 & 1/2 Half Pints ".  The tea kettle is stamped,”6 Half Pints” and measures 11 inches tall by 9 inches wide. There are only two dents on the entire set both are small and on the sugar bowl. One dent is rectangle shape measuring ¾” x 1”. The other dent on the sugar is a very tiny pin point dent.

This wonderful old set is very well constructed of heavy and substantial sterling stock. All eight pieces feature the opulent floral, shell and scroll pattern design. Finials and spouts are very fancy. Handles are quite ornate, with ivory(?)  inserts. Hinges are covered. Pedestal bases are thick, heavy and non - weighted.  The lids on coffee and tea pot open and close easily; hinges are in excellent condition. Handles are secure and tight; ivory (?) inserts remain firmly in place, with no chips.  Finials are straight. All eight pieces sit level with no wobbles. Interiors are clean. Truly a very high quality set that could proudly be used and enjoyed, then passed on for generations to come.  Research indicates that hollowware pieces in this pattern are rather hard to find.  The Royal Windsor pattern coordinates beautifully with similar patterns, such as King Richard, Old Master, El Grandee & Grande Duchess.
